The Our Theatre was the largest neighborhood movie house in Grand Rapids. It closed as a movie theatre in 1966. For a brief period in the 1970's it became the Civic Theatre before that group moved into the old Majestic Theatre. The building was purchased in 1984 by John & Mary Hyatt to house their business, John Hyatt & Associates Theatrical Lighting and Supplies.
The Page organ was purchased and moved to the Sparta Theatre by David Kalmbach in the mid 1960's. Dave was a local musician who had his own recording studio and record label. During it's stay at the Sparta Theatre the Page Organ was significantly enlarged. It was reported by Kalmbach that he added another Page Organ from Flint, MI and the 3/17 Wurlitzer from the Tivoli Theatre in Chicago. The pipework and percussions were installed unenclosed on the stage. It must have been quite a stunning sound! Dave and the organ moved several times before landing in Marietta, PA in 1972. The organ now at 37 ranks was installed in the Marietta Theatre. The Marietta Theatre closed in 1997 and was sold to a local performing arts group in 2005. The disposition of the organ is currently unknown.
